Faced with the permanent and mounting danger of an explosion coming from the stock of gas contained in Lake Kivu and the great need for electrical power in the sub‐region, Technobuild combined the pleasant to the useful in launching the project Klec (Kivu Lake Energy Corporation) to explore and exploit the Lake kivu methane gas for its electricity transformation profit of surrounding populations.
